England U18 Women Cut to Sixteen

The England Under-18 Women’s squad has been reduced to 16 players after the coaching staff observed all three final four events – seniors, juniors and BCS – over the past few weekends.

“It was important to watch the players competing in these finals before making our selections; they are the most competitive opportunities of the year and gave us the chance to see improvements by the players,” said Coach Lee Ryan.

“The schools finals in particular were a good showcase for National Teams players, with 13 of the squad in action.

“We now enter the schools examination period where the players will have to maintain the professionalism they have shown since our Easter camp. With the European Championship early in the summer they must return in June ready for camp.”
