30/09 – Sevenoaks Suns defeated Nottingham Wildcats 52-59 on the road in a repeat of last season’s Playoff final at The O2.

  • Quarter scores: 14-17, 11-12, 10-13, 17-17
  • Wildcats are the two-time defending league champions
  • Reigning MVP Ashley Harris posted 19p/15r in defeat
  • Cat Carr with 20p/11r, Ta’Yani Clark added 6p/11r
  • Chantelle Pressley scored 15p on her return to the league

30/09 – Sheffield Hatters handed league newcomers Durham Palatinates a tough welcome with a dominant 92-37 home victory.

  • Quarter scores: 25-11, 21-13, 19-5, 27-8
  • Lee Davie coached Durham’s BBL side, Wildcats
  • Krizstina Velkey with 22p/9r/7a in the win, Gianna Woods 16p/12r
  • Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee with 24 of her team’s 37 points
  • WBBL debut for Lafayette grad Harriet Otewill-Soulsby (7p/9r)

30/09 – Cardiff Met Archers began their campaign with a comfortable 42-68 triumph over Oaklands College.

  • Quarter scores: 14-23, 8-13, 6-7, 14-25
  • Cardiff held opponents to 14 points in second and third quarters
  • Merissa Quick with 25 points on Archers debut
  • Stef Collins handed out 11 assists, Eilidh Simpson made league debut
  • Kellie Ring 12p, Krisztina Nagy 10p for Oaklands

01/10 – Manchester Mystics held off Team Northumbria for a 74-79 victory in an entertaining opener in the North-East.

  • Quarter scores: 19-21, 18-14, 18-17, 19-27
  • Georgia Jones starred with 19p/9/10a in near triple-double
  • Chantelle Handy had 18p for Northumbria on WBBL debut
  • Mystics went on 13-2 run to start fourth, Natalie Chaloner with huge late 3
  • Dominque Allen 16p, Rheanne Bailey 14p/8r
  • Mystics were Cup champions last season, returned key British core

01/10 – Leicester Riders started the season in style with a convincing 35-61 win away at BA London Lions.

  • Quarter scores: 10-19, 6-16, 11-15, 8-11
  • Riders pulled clear in the first and never looked back
  • Dee Hayward had 15p including 8-11 from the free throw line
  • Erin McGarrachan 12p, Mollie Campbell 6p/10r
  • Zoe Willis 13p for Lions, debut for GB U16 captain Loren Christie
