England Under-16s finished 7th at the Division B European Championships after a 47-46 victory over Belarus on Sunday.
It was Abigail Johnson who was the star, pulling down 26 rebounds, 17 on the offensive end, to finish as the tournament leader with 14.8 per game.
The result marked the second one point victory for England over the Belarussians in the tournament after they won 64-63 against the same opponents in the second round.
On Sunday it appeared the Belarus had the game under control as they led 36-27 with just three minutes to go in the third quarter, but England enjoyed a run to end the penultimate quarter and left the game in the balance for the final period.
England trailed for all of the fourth quarter until a basket by Rhianna-Mae Laing with 90 seconds remaining gave the final scoreline. England missed three late free throws to give Belarus a chance to grab the win, but their final shot missed leaving them to take 8th spot in the tournament.
Shanice Norton led England with 12 points and 8 rebounds, and Abigail Lowe added 11 points.
