Damian Jennings’ side fell to an 80-62 defeat at the hands of host-side Sweden in the Four Nations Tournament in Sodertalje on Saturday evening.

Despite 22 points from Chantelle Handy, the Swedes were too much for GB as they will look to bounce back tomorrow against Latvia.

“We learnt a lot of things from this defeat today and we’ve just got to go back and work on them,” said Handy after the game. “We have another game tomorrow and we’re going to come out, be more energetic and try to be stronger.”

“We are producing some offensive plays that create problems for teams, that’s one of the real positives,” said head coach Jennings. “Unfortunately today we weren’t able to put back-to-back defensive stops with a good score, and too many unforced errors created our woe.”

Kim Butler finished with 10, whilst Lauren Thomas-Johnson added 9 points.
