Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott Named MAC Freshman of the Year

GB U20 Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott has been named the Mid-American Conference Freshman of the Year, the league announced on Tuesday.

The Londoner and Haringey Angel product is averaging 9.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.7 steals in 23.8 minutes per game for the Rockets, and currently ranks seventh in the conference in three-point field goals made (1.8), 12th in three-point field goal percentage (.340, 49-of-144) and 27th in scoring.

Bravo-Harriott has scored in double figures on 15 occasions this season, the second-highest total on the team.

Bravo-Harriott increased her production level as a starter over the last 10 games, contributing 12.8 points and 4.5 boards in 30.6 minutes (Feb. 7-March 9). She has also registered at least 10 points in eight contests during this stretch, including a season-best 24 points vs. Northern Illinois on Feb. 18.

In MAC contests, Bravo-Harriott tallied 11.0 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.9 apg and 0.9 spg in 27.1 mpg. She finished fifth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (.386, 39-of-101), seventh in three-point field goals made (2.2), 11th in overall field goal percentage (.441, 71-of-161) and 19th in scoring.

Bravo-Harriott led the Rockets in scoring in five of their 18 MAC games, including a season high of 24 in a win over NIU.
