After helping the Falcons to a pair of season-opening wins in Philadelphia over the weekend, Bentley University freshman guard and Great Britain Under-20 Megan Lewis has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week.
Lewis debuted by averaging 10.5 points, eight rebounds and four assists while shooting 57 percent overall, a combination that only one other player in the 15-team conference could match or better during the opening weekend. During the 48 minutes she was on the court, Bentley outscored its opponents by a team-best 37 points.
Following a quiet debut in a 79-54 win over Holy Family University, the six-footer filled the stat sheet with 17 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, a steal and four three-pointers as the Falcons took care of Philadelphia University, 69-60, Sunday afternoon.
Lewis headed to Bentley after a year at New Hampton Prep. In England she represented Sevenoaks Suns and was a part of the England Under-18 and Great Britain Under-20 programmes.
