GB Under-18s Women Remain Perfect, Now 3-0

Great Britain Under-18s remain unbeaten at the European Championships after beating Macedonia 81-46 in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday.

Vanessa Ellis’ side backed up convincing wins over Ukraine and Moldova with their third straight success as they close on a place in the last eight.

Shauna Harrison top scored with an 18-point haul, while Charlotte Ellmore added 16 points and Milly Knowles had 12.

Dani Lozzi had an efficiency rating of 20 after handing out nine assists to go with eight rebounds and six steals.

Knowles opened the account before Ellmore gave GB their first lead from downtown. A 15-3 burst put GB up by 12 points, capped by a three from Harrison and the score became 25-17 after 10 minutes.

An 11-0 run saw GB break clear in the second as they opened up an 18-point cushion before Macedonia closed the half with the final five points to make it 38-25.

Harrison scored five straight in a 9-0 start to the third, but their opponents began to battle back before Ellmore snapped a troubling spell with a second triple.

Macedonia scored seven straight across periods, but still trailed 41-54 before GB produced a stellar run to seal the victory. Myerscough duo Knowles and Harrison combined for the next 10 points for their side to spark a crushing 19-3 spell.

GB completed a 35-point winning margin, while Ireland also improved to 3-0 with a 116-25 win against Moldova.
