I am so excited to announce I have verbally committed to the University of Hawai’i. Firstly, I’d like to thank my family for the constant support and always believing in me. A massive thank you to my @7oakssuns family, specifically @lenbusch34 for creating the opportunity for me to play in such a great competitive environment. Also to @goglobal_llc and @shesgotnextuk for helping me through my recruitment process. I am extremely grateful to @coachllb @coachkmitch and the rest of the coaching staff for expressing such confidence in me and giving me this amazing opportunity. Can’t wait. #gobows 💚🌈🤙🏽
“I’m super excited right now,” Andrews told Hoopsfix. “[I’m] so grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to get out there, meet new people, experience new cultures and test myself at the D1 level.
“The coaching staff were so welcoming and I feel they truly believe in me. It can’t get much better than playing in paradise!
“This season I want to work on my fitness, playing in the WBBL will definitely help with this.”
Andrews featured in 10 league games for Sevenoaks Suns in the WBBL last season having developed through their programme, whilst participating for GB at junior level.
The 17-year-old was ruled out of the FIBA Under-16 European Championships in 2018 before averaging 6.9 points the following summer as well as competing for GB Under-18s with a best of 11 points on two occasions.
