Shanice Norton returns to Barking Abbey as statement WBBL signing

Shanice Norton has become the first confirmed signing for BA London Lions ahead of the 2020-21 WBBL season.

The former GB Under-20 guard returns to Barking Abbey for her second year as a pro and represents a statement of intent for the Lions, who had a 0-16 league record last season.

Norton made 66 starts in a total of 118 games in four years at NCAA DI school LSU with 500+ points before starting her pro career in Germany.

The 23-year-old joined top-flight side Heidelberg in January and averaged 4.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 16.4 minutes per game in nine appearances.

The Lions took on Ipswich in a friendly encounter with their new-look squad – including several GB internationals – that will be announced in full over the coming week.
