WBBL playoffs to be shown on Sky Sports

The WBBL playoffs will be shown in its entirety on Sky Sports for the first time.

The league announced the change in format for the BBL and WBBL post-seasons with games to be played in Newcastle, Worcester and Leicester.

Sky Sports had only previously shown the WBBL Cup final and WBBL Trophy final this season as part of their new agreement with the BBL.

Both the quarter-finals – held at Vertu Motors Arena on May 1st/2nd – and the semi-finals – held at the University of Worcester Arena on May 7th – will be single-leg ties and shown live on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel.

The final will take place at the Morningside Arena and will also be broadcast on TV as part of the double-header on May 16th with the BBL playoff final also taking place.

Full schedule:

Quarter-final: [1] v [8] – 5pm, 1st May – Newcastle
Quarter-final: [2] v [7] – 7:30pm, 1st May – Newcastle
Quarter-final: [4] v [5] – 5pm, 2nd May – Newcastle
Quarter-final: [3] v [6] – 7:30pm, 2nd May – Newcastle
Semi-finals: (Highest remaining seed v lowest remaining seed) – 5pm/7:30pm, 7th May – Worcester
Final: (SF1 winner v SF2 winner) – 3pm, 16th May – Leicester
