Solent Kestrels 77-53 London Lions II

The Kestrels recorded a convincing opening success as they claimed a 24-point home win over London Lions II. Faye Endean top scored with 19 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while 16-year-old forward Fatmata Janneh poured in 27 points and 11 rebounds in defeat.

Worcester Wolves 63-56 Bristol Flyers

Ipswich 62-56 Thames Valley Cavaliers

The reigning champions began their title defence with a hard-fought six-point success with their new-look side led by the returning Cameron Taylor-Willis. The #HASC21 Under-19 Women’s MVP posted 10 points and 17 rebounds in the win with Ava Batesse top scoring with 19 points and Yassin Belle-Mbaye adding 16 points and 11 rebounds having moved from Essex.

Junior guard Olivia Forster hit back-to-back triples to spark a decisive 17-0 run in the fourth to break a 45-45 tie as Ipswich surged to victory. TVC had a game-high 22 points from Eleanor Bishop having led by as many as nine points at one stage.
