England U18 Women & U17 New Horizons National Team Squads Announced

Basketball England have announced the initial squads for England U18 Women’s National Team as well as the U17 Women’s New Horizons National Development Programme, following the weekend’s U17 Regional Development Tournament.

“I was delighted to see the talent on display at this year’s U17 Regional Development Tournament,” said Basketball England’s Performance Coach Coordinator, Nick Ibberson. “The standard continues to rise and the new format provided several close and exciting games in which the players, were able to showcase their talents. One or two new names appear in the U18 Squad having appeared at an RDT for the first time.

“The U17 New Horizons Squad is another exciting group who have a chance to develop their talents further ready for potential promotion to the U18 Squad this year or next. Most players in both groups have been members of their Regional Performance Centre and Regional Development Teams at U13 and U15 age groups and it is always a pleasure to see how they have developed but the discovery of new and unknown talented players is one of the most exciting things about Regional Development Tournaments.”
