GB U20 Women Finish Tournament With Win Over Romania

Having endured a challenging U20 European Championship Women Division B campaign, Great Britain finished on a high note with a 72-50 win against Romania.

Heading into the final day in Podgorica and still searching for an elusive maiden triumph, head coach Karen Burton and her players delivered with a fine display.

Led by a terrific double-double from Evelyn Adebayo who racked up 14 points and 13 boards, along with a stellar 21 points from Sarah Thomson, GB always looked the stronger outfit.

GB scored the first six points of the contest, with an ‘And-1’ play by Hannah Peacock handing them an early double-digit advantage at 18-8.

Once in the driving seat, GB remained there for the remainder of the game as they ended their run of eight consecutive losses in relative comfort.

There were also notable displays from Georgia Elliott-King who registered 15 points and Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby who recorded 12 points and eight boards.
